Barbies & Buckshot

HAPPY 5TH POST!!
Kinda something to celebrate.

Any way, hello everyone. To celebrate our fifth post on the blog we have a couple of things to show you. One, if you look above you will see our brand new logo of Team Insomniac Films. You may know the characters shown there. If you don't, then I recommend you come HERE, to my Deviant ART account and see who they are and what they're all about. It's really cool. A super hero comic book idea. Now second of all, Chris has just posted his newest short film for you to see. It's called:

HERE'S THE MOVIE
It's a murder mystery that takes place in an alternate reality, where serial killers have privately unionized into a group called Serial Killers Anonymous. They pay fees to higher ups and kill only certain victims, and in return make capture by the government harder. They also have pyramid class membership where higher payers get more privileges. One Gold Level Member is Tony Gadzecki, former FBI and widower, who's on the case to hunt and capture a serial killer murderer, who uses their victims signature modus operandi to kill them and gains the name "The Mirror Murderer". His partner is Reno Meeds, a southern back woods killer and ex marine. Can they catch this Mirror Murderer, or will they both meet their end? Especially when the Murder's already killed someone close to Tony: HIS WIFE.

Check it out. We even have an IMDB page for it. It needs correcting but it's there. Thanks for watching and I hope you'll keep following us. And extra thanks to the artist of the poster for the movie: LordWormm

Zombie Party!!

Hey, everyone. Hope you're all still watching cause the wait's over! Here's a new post! And guess what: it contains Zombies!! About a week or so ago we tried our hands at making a horror short with Zombies. We've never gotten the chance to do it, so that day was a good day and a first.

The plot was that a kid has a jerk of a baby sitter who tells him to go to his room so he can party with his buddies and play Dungeons and Dragons. However things start falling apart when the first arrival to the party is a ZOMBIE!! He bites the baby sitter and now there are two. Then a pizza boy comes and makes three! Now there are Zombies running around the house and only the kid can save the day. Will he succeed? Guess you're gonna have to wait and see for yourself. Chris' working on it. He has a few things he needs to edit and finish.

For now, here are some pictures of us in stages of make up work as done by our awesome cinematographer, make up magician, and cool girl Veronica Delgado. Enjoy!

First to be done with on the Zombie work was me. I play the friend who begins the epidemic. Or spreads it. Either way I'm the starting problem.

Since I was first, Veronica pretty much just used my face for trial and error. She also didn't have a lot of supplies to use so she was a bit limited.

I think it's coming together pretty well with what she's got. Considering it's Halloween discount Party City Monster Make-up. Always a good deal to keep a look out on if you're a film maker. After Halloween, Party City has a 75% off every Halloween thing so they can clear the shelves.

For a bit of fun, we attempted to have it look like brain matter was coming outta my face. It looked cool.

The coloration is spreading to my neck!! I'M ROTTING!!!

And lo and behold: me as a Zombie! I have coloring on my arms and I'm holding a severed leg. Some poor bastard's not happy about that.

Ah yes. Pure fun and insanity: a sock monkey on top of a messed up head. That's actually gonna be one of the Zombie heads near the end.

The virus is spreading! The director's been Zombified!!

Notice the brain matter's gone. She didn't have spirit gum to keep it on my face. It fell off in the first take. I still look good. Chris looks pretty damned creepy too.

The house is preparing for World War Z! The baby should always get the Mini Gun.

So there you have it: proof that we're still working on movies and care for you guys. Thanks for all your support and thank you for continually watching us. We'll have more soon and maybe we'll get our shit together and make more posts more closely on a schedule.

The Shooting of Dead Dog in Davie: An Exercise in Pain and Patience

Oh, it was beautiful. I had the best script I'd ever written. A violent, surreal slice of life about a kidnapped dog. I had my dream cast, a hefty chunk of the people from my previous film (Barbies & Buckshot). I had some great equipment and the support of a chinese delivery job. Unfortunately, it may have been far too good to be true. After a month and a half we wrapped shooting. Although, "wrapped" may not be the best word. "Gave up" or "Surrendered" seem a tad more accurate. We could blame any number of people. But in particular, it came down to me, the director. I had a script that was WAY too long, a cast of nearly twenty, and as far as behind the scenes crew went, I was forced to perform most of the duties myself. Now I'm left with a mess of footage. With any luck I can turn what was supposed to be a great thirty minute short film into a decent ten minute short. Hopefully, once we raise the money for the feature things will run a bit smoother. Here's some pictures from the shoot. Everyone (well, almost everyone) did great work and I  applaud them all.
-From Director Chris Krider

The following photos are for a scene where the main antagonist kidnaps and kills a transvestite.

Matt is the main bad guy killing our friend Alex who has a Ren Fair dress on. Chris is helping helping.

HE HAS NO BOOBS!!

It was very difficult getting the dress on. Alex is slight but not skinny enough.

I think he's having fun.

Yeah... he is. I'm scared.

AGH!

Eh, the breasts don't look too bad. We tried to make everything look terrible for this character. The Goatee already gives everything away.

Here's Chris directing. He looks professional I think. The hat is new.

There you can see the back of our cinematographer Veronica. We're preparing for the first part of that scene.

The balloons are escaping!

"Mirror Mirror on the wall. Who's the fairest one of all?"

THWAK!!

Now we move from the living room to the garage. Chris is setting up the lighting and I'm setting up the sound equipment.

I look professional. Too bad I had a bit of trouble. We still got what we needed.

BEHOLD! The Studson Brothers! Using both our middle names Judson and Sterling, we make up producers and writers Chris Krider and Samuel Pritchard-Torres. And Chris directs while I act. I hope you enjoyed this and look forward to more posts. Have a good day!
